Finance ratifies ADR-0016 (medallion warehouse layout)

Why

This answers Platform's ack request (2026-05-31-platform-adr-0016-ack-request). ADR-0016 is filed Proposed and names Finance among its acknowledgers, but Finance's acknowledgment was never put on the record. Finance has been building against the layout for weeks, so the decision is implemented from Finance's side; this memo closes the gap between that lived dependency and the formal ack the ADR cycle expects.

What

Finance endorses the medallion layout as filed: bronze as untouched per-domain source-of-record, silver as conform-only wide faces plus the conformed identity and geography spine, and a single gold mart with cross-domain composition allowed in gold and nowhere else. The consumer firewall is the part Finance most wants on the record as correct. A reporting domain section bounded by its contract, rather than by a warehouse, is exactly the shape Finance needs: the finance section reads the cross-silver composition but only the slice the finance-mart contract defines, and that boundary is structural rather than a convention Finance has to police.

Finance confirms it has acted on action item 8. The finance-mart contract is published and the finance gold section is built across the silver faces and the spine, not against bronze or another domain's source tables. Finance's reconciliation surface composes from silver's conformed person_id grain and the geography spine, so Finance does not re-derive identity or geography and is insulated from source schema churn behind the versioned silver contract. This is the discipline the ADR intends, and Finance has held to it.

Finance has one observation, not a revision. The ADR's "what becomes harder" note that gold materialization needs a refresh cadence and staleness monitoring is the consequence Finance is most exposed to, because stale gold is a consumer-visible defect in Finance's reporting. Finance reads action item 10 (Platform decides and documents the refresh cadence and stands up staleness monitoring) as the item that protects Finance's surface, and flags it as the one Finance would like to see land rather than linger. This is a sequencing preference, not a condition on the ack.
